I am truly thankful for 4 DVD's from close combat. I've watched the first 2 twice, as I am aware of the need to master the basics before biting the bear. I am a card carrying member of the NRA, the USCCA, and a concealed weapons permit for the last 12 years. I'm not paranoid, I simply refuse to be a victim. I truly fear no man. However, for the most part, deadly force isn't appropriate, and your common sense methods and fluid moves are comfortable, natural, and well orchestrated. All I demand is that the attacker stops, and that will happen. Thanks again for the best universal program available to mankind.

Thank you so much for all you have done to provide simple and effective ways for ordinary folks to defend themselves. I have throughly enjoyed the core CCT and 15 Minutes of Hell. Escape Combatives will be my third purchase from you. I trust your company enough to spend my money on these important investments - and that means something since I am a poor college student! However, when I first heard of your company, I had a very different reaction.
When I stumbled upon your website via faceook it immediately looked like a scam. The lengthy explanations, vague references to the Captain's accomplishments, promises that seemed to be too good to be true, etc. Why am I telling you this? I just wanted to let you know that I was initially turned off and, judging from a lot of the scam blogs on the internet, so were a lot of other people. Maybe you could revise some things to not have this effect.
Why did I eventually come to believe enough of what was claimed to heavily invest in your company when I have little to no money to spare? It was seeing the Captain on the news program teaching women self defense. It seemed to be the only "credible" source on the entire website not based on vague claims or off "inside" opinion; the news program was verifiable, outside information that showed the effectiveness of Captain Chris. I continued my research and stumbled across the history of William Fairbairn. When I saw who the "super-teacher-who-unleashed-the-plague-of-death-on-the-Nazis" really was, and some of the basics he taught, I became much more convinced that Captain Chris was responsibly teaching a legitimate and effective method of self defense. When I was first on your website I read about this "super-teacher" but no "linkable" historical sources were named. I don't think it was until receiving the generous offer for the Escape Combatives that I actually saw a DIRECT reference to Faribairn by name in one of your advertising sections. It was then that I actually became more fully convinced that the Captain was the real deal.
I wanted to bring this to your attention because your company teaches information that is SO important for responsible people to be endowed with, and it is my opinion that some of your marketing effectively turns the most responsible people away - unless they are willing to take a deeper look into the claims the Captain makes.
I hope this strikes no offense with you - I mean none!

First, in your core Close Combat Training course, you included the Combat Library on your www.closecombatinsider.com address link instead of sending the CD as in the original package I purchased a few years ago ( I bought a second package for my daughter). In the current library, there is a book titled "Shanghai Municipal Police - Manual of Self-Defense." The book was published in 1915. The photos in the book show two men, one oriental and the other occidental (I assume British), demonstrating various techniques. My question is this: Is the British gentleman William H. Fairbairn? The man looks like he is in his late-20's, early-30's and W.H. Fairbairn would have been around 30 years old in 1915. If it is Fairbairn, that would be really interesting since most photographs of him were taken during WWII when he was a much older man. Somebody ought to make a movie about that man; he was such an awesome historical figure. Tom Clancy mentioned him in one of his non-fiction books,"Shadow Warriors."
Secondly, in your 6-30-11 Summer Update video email, you talked about coming out with a video offer in September called "Smash, Sticks & Stabs - Impact and Bladed Weapons for Combat Use." September has passed and there has been no mention of it, to me at least. Did you email anything out about it? If you do, I'd like to see what it is about.
Finally, I've checked out other "self-defense" videos and web sites and some of them are pretty cool with useful techniques, but you are the only one so far that talks about fear. You describe what fear is (fear is a number, 175+ heartbeats/min.), how to deal with it, and what you can and cannot do in a fearful state of mind. If ever I get into a situation where I have to use force to protect myself or a family member, that tidbit of information will prove to be a real life-saver.
I look forward to your response about W.H. Fairbairn and your Smash, Sticks and Stabs video.

My experience with the training recieved from Close Combat Company represents the best value for time and money invested, that I have ever received.
I have always had a natural ability to detect dangerous situations. My training has helped me develop "counter measures" for dealing with situations which could not be avoided. While I have not found it necessary to physically deal with someone, I do firmly believe that the way I now carry and present myself has made the difference.
One other side benefit: More people now seek me out for help, on any number of different subjects, than at any other time in my life.

I've really enjoyed the teaching and training aspects of Captain Chris. His instructional courses,both DVD and training manuals were exceptionally written and put together. His attitude towards the student were very Professional as well as down to earth and easy to learn from. His video series on each segment of the training was a huge plus. I have used the CloseCombatTraining(CCT) and its associated training material and found it to be of both mental and physical use. It gave me greater confidence in dealing with aggressive situations in my work- I work for an ambulance service and deal with aggression on a regular basis- and protecting myself and cooleagues in these situations. The ABC and by the numbers systems are excellent. Simple and effective no wonder it was taught in WW2 when time was limited!

I left the Army 30 years ago at 6'2" 195lbs. Recently during a family get together and several pictures later I was shocked at how far I had fallen from the lean mean fighting machine to a 275lb couch potato.
I started looking for two things, get back in shape and retrain in self defense considering the deterioation in the world. Since starting the training with the Close Combat material I must admit I have not felt this good in too many years. I still have a long road ahead but with the steady improvement I see nothing but daylight ahead. Thank you for the hard work and help you supply.

I would have loved to been able to purchase the other DVD's but even with Capt Chris' low cost I could not afford them because of recent purchase of a house and associated costs. Although I am a Texan and sometimes find it hard to understand some New Yorkers, I find the DVDs easy to understand and easy to study.
I have done "shadow boxing" ("shadow defending") using the Captain's techniques. If I ever have an occasion to use them in a real situation, I feel confident that they will serve me well.
After buying and training with the 4-DVD set, I ordered another set as a gift for my girl friend. I wish I could afford the advanced DVDs, if there are such a thing.

I have very much enjoyed these training vidios. I started with the close cobat training and while it is hard to practice that stuff on your own it was shown shown in such a simple and easy to understand manner that by just takeing note of how I stand or position myself or even of my surroundings I am more confident of dealing with unexpected. I followed that up with the 15 minutes of hell wich is still 20 minutes of hell for me but being do-able I am still at it and feeling great. The other vidios are more a flight of fancy for me as I can't see me ever really needing those skills but in saying that, having watched them and had the odd dry run, my confidence to cope in a crisis has been boosted.

The great benefit for me is that I can go back to the DVDs and refresh it content often. As an over-the-road long distance driver I don't have the luxury to go to a martial arts school since I've to spend must of my time in the truck. It's here here where the great convenience of Close Combat plays in my favor. What I like the most is the not need of uniforms and the simplicity of using not sophisticated moves in attack/defense. Your training vids have been a big addition to the training I already have. Me and some of the guys from work go at it from Time to time and they wonder how I am able to easily break out of their choke holds etc & take them down. Not to mention most of them are twice me size. Also I'm one of the "go to the gym"kind of guys, so I was a little skeptical about the 15 mins hell workout. However all I have to say is "hard body". Within a week I lost about ten Ibs and was more tight & ripped than I had ever been from working out in the gym. No problems with shipping & handling & the price for the products very affordable. I was shocked that it wasn't more for the life saving info you are receiving. Over all I'm a very satisfied customer and to sum it all up with one word "phenomenal". I have been using Captain Chris's 15 Minute Hell workout video for about a year now as my sole consistent workout routine and have benefited appreciably from it. The production values of the dvd are low (the nutrition segment even cuts off before the end - but after most of the very good information has been given - on my disc), but the routine is well presented. Chris has a segment reviewing how to do each exercise, a segment walking you through the routine in a step-by-step manner, and a segment showing him going through the whole routine in 15 minutes.
This is a surprisingly complete workout, and I look and feel much better as a result of it! I started pretty out of shape, so it still takes me a bit more than 15 minutes to get through, but I think almost everyone could complete the workout within 20-25 minutes. As your conditioning improves, your time to complete will fall from there (and working out as fast as you can is part of what makes the program most effective). Again, this is not a glitzy exercise program disc, but it works great, no equipment is required, and you need little to nothing besides this program to stay in very good shape!
I would recommend this exercise routine to anyone. It is particularly good for the time-pressed, but even if you have more time, I think this would make a great a core for your exercise program (just add other activities that you want to do as time permits). If you are currently out of shape, this program is also very good. Chris shows you how to do what you can, and you will definitely be able to do more over time if you follow his guidance.

My son who trains in KRAV MAGA ,and much biger than myself often train and spare togather, there has never been a time that he has ever defeated me, in fact though he is good , our sparing does not even last very long, I use the finger dart or tiger claw and press strong with open hand or elbow,s ending with chin jab and it is over. I am a physician, retired now last 3 years. Over these many years I have tried many a "workout", stay in shape programs. None have worked for me as well as your "15 minutes of Hell". I work out with your program 5 days, sometime 6 days a week. Great for stretching and strengthening, especially for my age bracket. I believed in your videos, workouts, and nutritional program because of all you have been through personally in your life with cancer, unable to defend your wife and family in recovering weakened state. Then the "rest of story" how you have come back to health, developed workout and nutritional supplements(many, many other companies in the the nutritional marketplace), and then taught others what you have learned over the years about self defense. Now we have Captain Chris techniques through videos to help others who desire to know what you have taught one-on-one to many others.
Presently I find the most help from the CC-SE and the CC-750. The 750 have help me (eliminated) some deltoid insertion pain right shoulder. Nothing else has eliminated this pain over the past 5 or 6 yrs. No one else or other therapy has accomplished what 750 has done.
Your customer service have been great--prompt and efficient--even when I goofed up with the shipping address. Kudos to all of them, too.
Please do have your staff locate my e-mail to you about the airline passenger incident I sent you several weeks ago. Just demonstrated how each American flying public needs to be able to take action and Fear No Man!

I run through the moves every morning mentally and in a shadow boxing mode straight after my daily morning excercises. I do it to a count of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. (Finger dart, whip kick, edge of hand, edge of hand, chin jab). Therefore I'm ever-ready in case the need arises. My only actual experience was on a tram in my home city of melbourne australia, when a young angry aggresive male boarded the tram cursing and swearing and intimidating everyone. Every body else was busy trying to pretend nothing was happening, but I held his gaze unblinkingly. He became uncomfortable with me, stopped his behavior and shortly after alighted. Strangely I was welcoming the potential opportunity to put into practice what I'd learned. A woman near me noticed this and thanked me after the idiot had alighted. I have to say: "it felt scarey but good"!
I'm sure I could'nt've done this without the discipline of my mental preparation.

I haven't needed to defend myself or my family yet, but just using the training videos to practice my potential moves against aggressors helps me feel less helpless in that situation. My goal is to make my moves so second nature that it will just flow. Thanks Chris. I appreciate your letters of encouragement and guidance to be prepared.

Chris close combat dvds which include the abc,law dog,15min hell,scientific self defense,bullets bats and blades,and guerrilla grappling.I have enjoyed and benefittedgreatley from these dvds.I use the 15min hell dvd almost every day and then view one of the other training dvds while cooling down from the workout.I usually start with the abc dvd and eventually work my way through scientific self defense, bullets bats and blades,law dog,and then sometimes the guerrilla grappling.this is a whole library of the very best self defense training that is available on the market today and i would recommend it for anyone interested in protecting self and family in these unpredictable times,m.r. As a Marine currently serving in the Army National Guard, I find the Close Combat system instructed by Captain Chris to be a very useful tool in one's arsenal if ever confronted with the need to implement it. Fortunately I have not yet needed to, but I firmly believe the simplicity and effectiveness of the movements and strikes as taught by Captain Chris will prove detrimental to one's survival when necessary. I purchased Capt Chris' Close Combat Training course a little over a year ago. After viewing the first time, I was able to see the value of learning his techniques and I review the course every couple of months to practice and keep up the skills he taught me. Heaven forbid that I will ever need them, but thanks to Chris, I have the skills if I need them.

Wanted to say, if you would like to learn to defend yourself, family, country, etc... this "system", for lack of a better word, is THE BASE to either start from or stand on. Any martial arts training will blend right into it, and it would be a serious advantage to have learned this first. There's know way I can prove, or convince anyone with words (text), So the best I can do at the moment is just to say, this training is not a joke, not a "back page comic book" attempt to take your $$$, this is not for someone who won't commit to try, and learn! But if you would like to learn an excellent, foundational self defence method, this is it. If you want to just pose in your mirror, it will even help ya there too! (poser).
